I've made a new discovery! A chew treat that actually lasts a full grown German Shepherd for more than 5 minutes! It's called "everlasting dog treat" and it's made in the Himalayas! Out of yak milk! The dogs love it and so far there's been 15 minutes of chewing and it's only 1/3 gone. Amazing. I bought it at PetSmart for about $4 I think. I remember thinking it sounded expensive but the "pet specialist " (good grief!) said they were flying off the shelves so I thought I'd try it. And I like it!
Fun fact! Not sure if it says on the package or not, but once they chew them down small enough to fit completely in the dog's mouth, you can take it, and microwave it for 30-45 seconds. It'll make a fully consumable cheese puff, then just wait for it to cool completely before giving it back to your dog. That way it's no longer a choking hazard, and you're not wasting the end of it, and throwing it out, every time it gets too small to safely chew.
