Achilles is for sale

It is with heavy heart that I must find Achilles a new home. He is a Guardian Angel Shepherd and he is 5 years old. He is absolutely stunning and has the old time German head. He weighs 110 pounds. His Father was Diesel and his Mother is Isis who is still going strong at 13 years. I wanted to use him as a stud dog but alas, he is not fertile. He is very well trained, good with kids, female dogs, horses & cattle. His price is $5000. I would suggest neutering him as well. You must have had experience with dominant German Shepherds or other large dogs in the past. He is very courageous and must have a knowledgeable owner. At home he's a mush and loves to cuddle. Fetch is definitely a priority too. But if he doesn't know you he will lay in the corner and quietly watch to make sure you mind your P's and Q's. If you'd like more information, please call 403-556-3635 or email k9trainer@dogwhisperer.ca with "Achilles" in the subject line. To approved homes only.

57 Successful Search and Rescues!

Mr Green (Ranger) at 6 weeks
Ranger at 12 Years

I had a visitor the other day.  This is Ranger.  He is 12 years old.  He is a Guardian Angel Shepherd.  He has 57 successful SARs under his belt!  Amazing!  As if that wasn't enough! He was a very successful security dog as well.  His owner told me many stories about all his successful security endeavours.  Here's just one.  There is a LARGE motorcycle ride to collect money against cancer that goes through several towns in Central Alberta.  Most riders are wonderful but there are a few that have seen rough lives.  The local town hired extra security just to be on the safe side.  Late in the evening Dan & Ranger got called into one of the bars.  The motorcyclists were minding their own business but the local young males decided they'd pick a fight with them.  When they got there it was an all out brawl.  Ranger was commanded to "watch" and started barking.  That got everybody's attention real quick.  Everyone involved were told to leave, which they did.  When Dan and Ranger went outside, the motorcyclists had carried on their way but the locals were a block away in a parking lot.  They saw the security pair and started toward them screaming obscenities and challenging the two.  There were 7 drunk young men, looking for a fight.  Dan did what was required of him.  "STOP!  This is a security dog!  If you continue he WILL bite!"  They just kept coming.  "STOP!  HE WILL BITE IN DEFENSE!"  They kept coming.  They surrounded Dan and Ranger.  Dan allowed Ranger enough leash to ALMOST reach one of the assailants.  That was enough for them!  Off they slunk trying to keep as much pride as they could.  Still yelling obscenities as they disappeared into the darkness.   YAY RANGER!  If he hadn't been there, there could have been a very different outcome.  I am so PROUD of Ranger and Dan both.  If it hadn't been for the expert training and the great bloodlines, things would have been different.  You won't see a show line Shepherd doing that!

PS - You can see a picture of Dan & Ranger on the front page of my website.  Back in his prime.  Ranger is very healthy but has retired from service.  Even after his life of hard work, he is doing just fine!

Back From Surgery

I have just returned from surgery and will be out of commission for 2-3 weeks.  Surgery was successful but there was a complication of a pinched nerve in my neck causing numbness on the left side of my face, tongue and left arm.  My left arm is not working properly which is a really strange feeling.  Works well from the elbow down but I can't move my arm more than 30 degrees away from my body and it has no strength.  I will be laying low, catching up on educational material  and working at getting stronger again.  I'm hoping to get back to my youtube videos during this time as well.  Things just got too busy to keep up but hopefully I can catch up again!  Thanks for your patience at this time.  I appreciate it.
